She spent two years in Pantomimy Theatre in Wrocław. Her early serious acting work was first in Yugoslavia – for Dragovan Jovanovic in Zapach ziemi [‘The Scent of Earth’], in Hungary – for Sándor Sára in 80 huszár [’80 Hussars’] and for Károly Makk. For the latter she played the complicated and dramatic role of Livia, fighting against a forbidden love to Eva and with it she proved once and for all that she was gifted not only with class and beauty but also with a versatile talent. The offers that followed, and seemed even more interesting yet, came from directors such as Krzysztof Kieślowski, Magdalena Łazarkiewicz, Andrzej Barański, Filip Bajon, Andrzej Wajda and others from France, Germany, Italy and Hungary. She plays very different characters, ranging from a prison worker in Nadzór/Custody to Urszula, deep in mourning after losing her husband in Bez końca/No End and Telimena in Pan Tadeusz/Pan Tadeusz: The Last Foray in Lithuania. She gives them all an aura of mysteriousness and sex appeal.
