PROGRAM
- The Polish Film Academy "Painting in the Films of Andrzej Wajda"
The Polish Film Academy Painting in the Films of Andrzej Wajda course consists of film screenings and lectures on the work of Andrzej Wajda, Polish cinema, and the history of painting. The program includes 12 feature films by Wajda, created between 1954 and 2009 – from A Generation to Tatarak. The lecturers, including both film scholars and art historians, analyze the films in terms of their painterly inspirations, comparing frames with paintings by artists such as Andrzej Wróblewski, Stanisław Wyspiański, Jacek Malczewski, Artur Grottger, Maksymilian Gierymski, Jan Matejko, Edward Hopper, Théodore Géricault, and Francisco Goya.
All Polish Film Academy classes, including lectures and film screenings, are held entirely in Polish.
