About the film

The story of an affair between a jaded fifty-year-old and a schoolgirl, sometimes naive, sometimes too mature, is told with humour (even irony) and charm. A successful debut for Maria Seweryn, daughter of Krystyna Janda and Andrzej Seweryn.

A fifty-year-old famous actor arrives in a provincial town to play Shakespeare's Romeo in the local theatre. However, having met the actresses with whom he is to act, he slips out of the theatre and tries to escape from the city. On his way, he is stopped by a girl, Julia, with a childlike face and the movements of a boy. It is thanks to her that the Master stays in the city.

The initial game and fascinations give way to true feelings: they become lovers. Horrified by what he has done, the Master tries to send Julia back home. His journey to the land of his youth ends with him having a heart attack and a stay in a sanatorium, where Julia visits him with her boyfriend, asking never to forget her.
