About the film
It is 1905. At a history lesson, Janek Walczak opposes the professor’s claims that Suvorov was the greatest leader. He faces expulsion from school. He agrees to apologise because of his poor, hard-working mother, but during the event he collapses and faints...
Stefan Kiernicki, son of the hated school inspector, undergoes a significant evolution. Initially, he avoids taking any risks, later he attempts suicide when he is ostracised by his peers and abandoned by his beloved Wanda, and finally he joins the strike. The activities of Polish students are supported by their Russian colleagues. Young people go out onto the street. They not only conspire in secret, but start fighting openly. Walking together are Stefan and Wanda, who, after overcoming many obstacles, have found their way into each other’s heart.
